NOW AVAILABLE: Golden Dots Personal Stationery from Minted
While I am by no means a professional artist, I do enjoy dabbling in art. In high school I was an avid oil painter, and was even given the opportunity to take college-level life drawing classes. At one point, I truly believed my professional future would be in art. So much so, that I went to school for interior design my freshman year of college, and took a series of fine art classes. While my art career didn’t pan out exactly as I had imagined, life had a funny way of bringing me back full circle. I mean, here I am, a designer and business owner - who would have thunk?!
Many years ago, I kept a doodle book - a notebook filled with doodles that I created while in classes, corporate meetings, on the train, etc. When Minted held a recent stationery design competition, I decided to turn one of my simple little doodles into personal note cards. Low and behold, Golden Dots ended up being a winning design, and is now for sale right here, in a variety of colors.
To elevate the simple drawing, I paired soft grey text with gold foil, on a light ivory paper with a cream dot patterned backer. For me, design is in the details, and even the smallest detail can turn a notebook doodle into gorgeous gold foil stationery.
