NEW to Zazzle: Welcome to the Shit Show art
A few weeks ago I took the plunge and invested in an iPad Pro for myself. It’s been years (Alright, perhaps over a decade. Good gracious now I feel old) since I last truly painted or create art for the pure joy of it. In high school and college, drawing and painting, specifically oil painting, were passions of mine. As time went on, my paint supplies dried up, my canvases got moved to the attic, and my sketchpad sat, untouched, in the closet. Every now and then I would attempt to create something, but the process of mixing paints, prepping a surface, and then cleaning up (especially oil paint) was such a hassle.
I’ve watched friends create beautiful art on their iPads and never really thought it would be something I could do. But the more and more I heard my creative friends rave about their iPads, the more and more I felt pulled to create. I began watching the Apple Refurbished inventory months ago, and when the exact iPad I wanted finally became available, I jumped on the opportunity. Side note: I love buying refurbished Apple products, and am usually able to score higher quality products within my budget.
Once I got my iPad and Apple Pencil, I quickly fell in love. I began a 30 Day Challenge to practice and learn my new tools. Each day I’ve created a new and unique piece - ranging from simple line drawings, to more complex paintings. While I don’t have intentions of selling everything I create (for me, the pressure to monetize often takes the joy out of creation), there have been a few pieces that I knew I needed to make available; even if only for myself to be able to purchase.
One such piece is this banner drawing that says, “Welcome to the shit show”. I had so much fun creating it, and I love the way it’s clean, simple, sweet, and totally sassy. Also, it’s true. It’s pretty much the motto of my life lately. The drawing shows a trendy flag banner hanging from sweet gold heart hook.
